Notes

I’ve really been digging the Connecticuts lately. This was a bit more on the mild side from what I prefer in a cigar, but it actually paired really well with a good strong coffee (20oz Kicking Horse Kick Ass, 2 Splenda ~2oz 10% cream). Very cedar forward throughout the whole stick, but a nice light creamy/buttery smoke. Retrohale was very smooth with notes of baking spices and toast. There was a really nice whisper of white pepper throughout as well. I expected a pretty nut-forward expression from this cigar, but I didn’t actually taste any! Towards the end of the final 3rd some leather poked through on the retro, but not a main profile of the cigar… which is kinda crazy because I swear every cigar has an undertone of leather for me. All in all, I’m pretty happy with this as a morning coffee smoke, and I’d definitely try it out later in the day. Not sure if a Conn stick gives an impression to me that it would pair great with any spirits, but maybe I should try one day. I could see it going well with a Dr Pepper Zero (I’m diabetic) but that’s pretty much my control drink 😂
