Starting with a kick of spice, this master piece quickly transitioned to an even cocoa and oak. Someone online noted a “pumpkin pie” taste which I strongly got on the retrohale and on the palate as it transitioned from the first to the second third. The second third was a nice cocoa, leather, and oak with not much spice at all. The third reintroduced the spice a bit and the cocoa was beautifully present. Subtly strong, its impact was felt halfway through and asserted itself the rest of the way. I smoked this down to the nub and at no point did it become hot or harsh. Incredibly well constructed, to be expected from Padron. José, what a stick.
